Akuous is a precision genetic medicine company focused on developing gene therapies with the potential to restore, improve, and preserve high-acuity physiologic hearing for people worldwide who live with disabling hearing loss.

My Role

UX designer: discovery, design, user flow.

auditing and updating an unfinished project

The purpose of this site was to give patients, or parents of patients, a multi-pronged resource for connecting with healthcare professionals, patient groups and other information regarding genetic hearing loss. Our task was to audit and update a previous project that had not yet gone live.

Keep what works, and update the rest

After conducting our site audit, we decided to keep most of the previous project’s UX and design, but update and consolidate information and design elements where we could to help create a clear and concise picture of Akuous’ mission.

The result

While most of this project was completed earlier, it was vital for us to revisit what was working, and what needed to be updated before continuing on with the development phase. This detailed audit gave us the opportunity to dig into the minute aspects of the UX and design of the Akuous website.

Unfortunately, this project never went live, but nonetheless was a great exercise for spending time with the site’s content and design elements to ensure that our final deliverable was as successful as possible.
